General Description

History

Science Education Program is one of the programs of Primary School Department in the Faculty of Education. The program started in 1998 to train secondary school teachers who will work at secondary school 6-8 grades.

Qualification Awarded

The graduates of the department are assigned as science studies teachers and work secondary schools 6-8 grades.

Specific Admission Requirements

The students are selected by scores at the Transition to Higher Education Examination (YGS). The language of year training at the department is Turkish and approximately 100 students enroll the department.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The program started to accept students at 1998-1999 academic year. There are 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professor, 4 Assistant Professor, 1 Lecturer and 4 Research Asisstant at the department. The Bulding of Faculty is located at Abant İzzet Baysal University Gölköy Campus.

Profile of The Programme

The program includes compulsory, subject area, teaching profession knowledge culture and practical courses. Also, the students take elective courses. The courses are both theorical and practical.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

The graduates work at public and private school connected to the Ministry of National Education as classroom teacher.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates will attend to graduate courses.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

It is depend on course contents of the courses ½ midterms, Project study, term paper, presentations and a final exam at the end of the term.

Graduation Requirements

It is a 4 year traning program. The students have to take all courses and their GPAs should be 2.00 minimum.
