General Description

History

Mathematics Teacher Education Program is an undergraduate program under Elementary Education within Faculty of Education. The program was estabilished to train mathematics teachers for 6-8 grades.

Qualification Awarded

Having graduated from the program, students will have a title of "mathematics teacher" and work at public schools as a mathematics teacher.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students for the program are chosen with an university enterance exam. The program gives education in Turkish for four years. 80 students are accepted on average each year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

There is 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 5 assistant professors, 2 teaching staffs and 1 research assistant in the Mathematics Education Program.

Profile of The Programme

The program contains compalsory field lesson, teaching knowledge, general culture, and application lessons. Also, teacher candidates can choose lessons from a pool of lessons. The lessons are theoretiacal and application.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Graduates can work as mathematics teachers in schools affiliated by the Ministary of National Education.

Access to Further Studies

Having graduated, students can continue masters and PhD programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

According to lesson contents, students will be evaluated with 1 or 2 mid terms, projects, end-of-semester projects and final exams.

Graduation Requirements

Undergraduate program is four years. All students have to take all lessons and to have at least 2.00 points in average.
