General Description

History

The department of Chemistry began its activities in 1994. The department offers programs at the undergraduade level leading to B.S. degree in Chemistry and at the graduate level leading to M.S. and Ph.D. programs. The aim of the department of Chemistry is to equip students with knowledge and laboratory skills for conducting research and development studies in chemistry, and working in quality control laboratories and manufactory processes in chemical industries as well. The research interests of the department which aims to develop the research and education in equal strength include not to only the fundemental areas of chemistry, but also cover many interdisciplinary areas including organometallic chemistry, material science, ecotoxicology, biotechnology. The department intends to emphasize interdisciplinary studies and leads to its educational activities on this side.
