Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

After graduated from the department of psychology degree, one could be employed as public servant under the different state structures of Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health. In the private sector, one could work in places that cooperates with knowledge of psychology such as kindergartens and KERS, special education centers, human resource departments. Apart from these sports and exercise, post-traumatic process, structuring and architecture cities, such as child development related to human psychology graduates can find jobs in many different fields. Also, one could find jobs in many different fields related to human psychology such as sports and exercise, post-traumatic process, cities and architecture, child development et c.

Graduation Requirements

Successfully passing the courses at least 144 credits and to reach a minimum 2.00 cumulative weighted grade point average.

Key Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

  • Learning basic theories of psychology, recognising assumptions and methods common with other related disciplines, being able to make comparisons of those disciplines with psychology. To know the contribution of psychology to other disciplines.
  • To know the history of psychology; to know the development of methods used by psychology, to be able to discuss the theoretical contradictions within psychology.
  • To know the basic approaches of assumptions and be able to compare those tehories, to be able to express the similarities, differences and limits of additives.
  • To be able to follow the developments in Psychology worldwide and in Turkey, to collect knowledge about research and literature, to be able to express his/her knowledge in an expressive way, to be able to collect knowledge from various resources.

Skills

  • Have knowledge about psychology's field of application. To know the fundemental principles of psychological assesment; to have an awareness about the limits and contirbution of assesment process. To have skills about basic level of obserrvation, psychological assesment and writing reports.

  • Have knowledge about basic qualitative and quantitative research methods. Be able to prepare a research design including data collection, interpretation, reporting and discussing experiences.

  • Learning scientific understanding, having skills of critical thinking. Being able to develope an interest and curiosity about human's mind and experiences and be able to make a selection through scientific assesment.

  • Know psychologies ethics and values and work according to them. To act according to the professional ethics and principles in research.

  • To have social sensitivity in personal interaction, social events, problems and be able to provide suggestions according to his/her knowledge in psychology.
