Course Contents

Definition, subject and scope of sociology, basic concepts in sociology, working areas of sociology. Development of sociology in Turkey and the world, important sociologist in Turkey and the world, relationship of sociology in other sciences; social groups and their features, methods in sociology, person-society relationship and person's effect to society, education from the aspect of sociology, education-person and society relationship, school as a societal organization, teacher's and student's roles and responsibilities from the aspect of sociology, opportunity of equality in education, social mobility, status, level and categorization, culture, society and civilization relationship, current sociologic study samples.
