Chemistry PhD


History


Chemistry PhD Program was established in 2003. Graduates of the program can work in Chemical Industry as a researcher, quality controller or in other branches and take part in higher education institutions.

Specific Admission Requirements


The person who has degree in MSc in Chemistry and related departments can apply to this program.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations


PhD students must have taken 60 ECTS lectures and then must be successful from a candicacy exam related with their subject. Students should be able to communicate the results of their scientific research in writing and in oral presentation. In addition to the final department seminar required of all graduate students, Ph.D. students are required to make an additional presentation at a department seminar or professional meeting.


Profile of The Programme


PhD program is minimum 5 semester and maximum 10 semester.

The graduates can find jobs either in academic or industrial vacancies related to their subjects.


Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading


Depending on a lecturer, a student can be examined at least 1 midterm and a Final exam. It is also possible to give a seminar for the related lecture.


Graduation Requirements


To gradute from the program, a student must be successful from 120 ECTS lectures, a candicacy exam, a research seminer and PhD thesis which is evaluated by at least five juri member.

Facilities


General Chemistry Laboratory, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, Organic Chemistry Laboratory, Physics Chemistry Laboratory, Industrial Chemistry Laboratory and Instrumental Analysis Laboratory are in our department. Instruments such as IR Spectrophotometer, UV Spectrophotometer, Elemental Analyzer, HPLC and DSC can be available to students for rutine measurements. In addition, NMR (Jeol 400 MHz), GC-MS, MALDI-TOF-TOF Instruments are alsa available in the campus for the students.
